The following are the adopted goals for the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design for Research:

• Support academic research and scholarship to increase the understanding of the historic and contemporary regional contributions to craft, creativity and design in America.
• Attract funding to promote programs in craft, creativity and design.
• Support research by regional and national colleges and universities to increase the amount and improve the quality of student and faculty studies on arts and cultural issues.
