The Center for Craft, Creativity and Design adopted the following Education Goals:

  • Provide educational resources for students and instructors at the college level on American studio craft history, specifically to compliment the textbook, "Makers: A History of American Studio Craft" at www.crafthistory.org.
  • Support collaborative residency programs to: bring internationally recognized artists to the region; support international residencies for regional artists; and support regional corporate and community artist residencies.
  • Provide internship opportunities for students enrolled in area colleges and universities.
  • Support regional and national meetings, conferences and symposia that will expand recognition of the craft leadership in North Carolina.
  • Be a catalyst for program collaboration between faculty of the University of North Carolina regional universities and colleges, with regional organizations and artists.
